A scam is making the rounds in Douglas County. Police say someone is calling people using a spoofed phone number to claim their adult child has been kidnapped. They use the child’s name, and then likely ask for gift cards from Walmart to pay for ransom. Deputies say it’s happened at least twice so far, and in each case, the adult child was fine.
