Care Flight, REMSA’s air ambulance service, is celebrating a milestone. These first responders have been serving the Northern Nevada region for the last 40 years.
Care Flight was founded in 1981, when helicopter EMS was still in its infancy. The program has expanded over the years. These teams now cover hundreds of square miles with four helicopters, a plane, and a critical care ambulance. The crews are now based in more rural areas – Gardnerville, Truckee, Beckwourth and Fallon- and they work and train with partner agencies all over the region.
