WCSO works to eliminate concealed carry permit backlog

Washoe County sheriff’s deputies are working on what they’re calling an “enormous backlog” of concealed carry permit applications. Sheriff Darin Balaam says they hope to get through them by July 1st. He says the delay is in part due to administrative services being shuttered for 10 weeks due to COVID-19, but also just the sheer volume of requests. They have more than 4-thousand appointments currently booked for a permit. 72% are new applications
