Vaccinations expand to Nevadans 55 and older

Nevadans 55 and older with certain health conditions are now eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine at local pharmacies. It comes as Washoe County was expected to receive more than 16,000 vaccine doses today – that’s a significant uptick from the usual 9,000 weekly doses. Health officials say the majority if this week’s additional doses are the Pfizer vaccine.

Seniors 65 and older who’ve been waiting for a vaccine appointment are urged to check their emails accounts-especially their spam or junk folders–that’s where so many invites wind up, state health officials say.
