New bill would extend eviction notices in no-cause cases

New legislation seeks to change the process of no-cause evictions in the state. Assembly Bill 141 would increase the length of eviction notices in cases where the tenant hasn’t done anything wrong, and the landlord simply doesn’t want to renew the lease. Currently, landlords must give tenants 30 days’ notice-this measure would extend that notice to 60 days. It would also seal eviction records for people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
