Russian national pleads guilty in planned cyberattack against NV’s Tesla facility

A Russian national pleads guilty in federal court to an attempted cyberattack on Nevada’s Tesla plant. Officials say Egor Kriuchjov traveled from Russia to California and into Nevada in August of 2020 to try to entice a Tesla employee into a hacking scheme. Court records say he offered to pay the employee with Bitcoin if they transmitted the malware. The employee reported Kriuchkov to the FBI.
