Washoe County to see ‘surge’ soon in fully vaccinated residents

Washoe County is expecting a surge in fully vaccinated residents soon. James English, regional chief of the COVID-19 response and vaccine deployment says thousands are scheduled to get their second doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. And they’re hosting their first mass clinic using the single-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine next week will which bring numbers up. Senior 65 and up and a recently expanded category of essential workers, including ag workers and grocery stores, are eligible. So far, in Washoe County, more than 45,000 residents are fully vaccinated, for a total of just over 9% of the population.
