The South African variant strain of COVID-19 may have made its way to Washoe County. The Health District says a traveler returning from South Africa has tested positive and the state lab is working to confirm the variant strain. Meantime, Wednesday, Washoe County saw no new COVID deaths. The county added 33 new cases and 479 recoveries. Sixty-one people are hospitalized with the virus.
