Man sentenced to prison time in Pyramid Lake assault

A man is heading to prison for two years in connection with an assault on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Reservation. In November of last year, Wakinyan Blindman admitted to punching a woman, strangling her, and trying to suffocate her by shoving dirt into her mouth. The woman survived, but was seriously injured.

Portable heater sparks motorhome fire in Reno

If you saw a large plume of black smoke over the valley Wednesday morning, it was a motorhome on fire. Firefighters were called to Riley Avenue and Neil Road at 6:45 a.m. to find the vehicle completely engulfed. A woman made it out safely. She tells firefighters the fire was sparked by heater tipping over.

Washoe adds 3 COVID deaths, nearly 250 recoveries

Washoe County adds three COVID-19 deaths for a total of 633. The latest death involve women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, all with underlying health conditions. The county added more than two dozen cases and nearly 250 recoveries Tuesday.

Bear sightings in foothills raise concerns

Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport to renamed after Reid

Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport is officially getting a new name. The Clark County Commission voted unanimously to re-name the facility after former Democrat U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Don’t expect to see new signs for a few months as the Federal Aviation Administration works to make the name change happen.
