Elected officials in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County are meeting to consider asserting more control over of the Washoe County District Board of Health-which controls the Health District that’s been managing the COVID-19 pandemic. Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson tells News 4 it’s not a power grab-but rather is in the interest of setting up an appeals process so people and businesses can appeal health district decisions.
