WCSD board votes to send middle, HS students back into classroom part-time next week

Middle and high school students in Washoe County will head back to the classroom next week after being remote since early December. The Washoe County School Board voted to approve Superintendent Kristin McNeill’s recommendation to resume hybrid learning for those students amid rising COVID cases.

The board also unanimously chose its new president. They selected Dr. Angie Taylor to serve as its leader. Trustee Andrew Caudill was elected vice president and Ellen Minetto will serve as clerk. Three new trustees-Jeff Church, Dr. Diane Nicolet, and Kurt Thigpen were also sworn in Tuesday.
