The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has eliminated a DNA testing back-log. The county’s crime lab, has made a number of changes, that include outsourcing some DNA evidence for analysis. Sheriff Darin Baalam called it a “major milestone” and an effort they’ve been working on for years. It was aided by $2.5 million in state funding and grants.
