Washoe County’s death toll from COVID-19 is rising rapidly. We saw more than 50 deaths in the past week alone. In the last month, there have been 159 deaths in the county. That means 42 percent of overall deaths since the pandemic started happened in the past month.
Washoe County added six COVID-19 deaths for a second straight day. That brings the total number of deaths to 384. The latest death involved men and women in their 60s, 80s, and 90s, all with underlying health conditions. The county added nearly 330 cases. Hospitalizations also rose to 312.
