UNR, Reno doctor develop COVID-19 predictor

In the battle against COVID-19, Washoe County adds seven new COVID-19 deaths for a total of 328. The county added 354 new cases and 85 recoveries Tuesday.

Additionally, public health experts have a new tool at their disposal that can predict COVID-19 trends in the region. The first-of-its kind Truckee Meadows COVID Risk meter was developed by a Reno physician and a UNR professor. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the tool uses indicators like positivity rate, daily new cases, and hospital capacity to predict threat levels. Check it out at covidriskmeter.org.
