Washoe County adds eight COVID-19 deaths, for a total of 419. All of the persons had underlying health conditions. The county has 238 positive cases and 130 recoveries.
Meantime, the head of Nevada’s coronavirus task force says the state’s COVID-19 positivity rate is dropping–but Caleb Cage cautions the holidays will likely reverse that trend. He fears we may see surge on top of surge. But for the first time in three weeks, he says the positivity rate is just under 20 percent. All counties, except for Storey, remain at high risk for virus transmission.
