A Carson City-based bakery is sold to a national company. Nature’s Bakery–known for its fig bars, has been acquired by KIND. The sale, which closed last week, was worth 400 million. Nature’s Bakery was founded in 2011 by father and son duo Dave and Sam Marson.
A woman is arrested near Reno in connection with a murder in Colorado. Denver Police say 45-year-old Kimberly Cottle fatally shot her boyfriend and buried his body in his backyard in Denver. Eusivio Luevano was reported missing November 12th. Cottle was arrested near Reno last Thursday.

Graves at Fernley Veterans Memorial Cemetery have been adorned with wreaths for the holiday. More than 8,000 wreaths were laid Saturday in honor of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a phone scam. Deputies say scammers impersonate Sheriff’s Office personnel to try and steal money. The scammer is able to manipulate caller ID to make the number appear to come from local law enforcement. The caller asks for money in exchange for avoiding arrest.
One person is in the hospital after a shooting involving Douglas County police in Gardnerville on Sunday. Just before 5:30 A.M.this morning, UNR Police Services tweeted that the person hospitalized was a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy who was shot in the neck and two suspects are in custody.
A Douglas County deputy is shot in Gardnerville. Carson Now reports the deputy was shot in the neck at Douglas and Gilman Avenues late last night. The deputy was flown to Renown with serious injuries. Two suspects are reported in custody-one was shot in the hand and was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center.
Washoe County added four COVID-19 deaths Sunday for a total of 411. It comes after Friday, the county broke a new record with 15 deaths – that’s the most reported in a single day. Sunday’s deaths include a woman in her 70s, and men in their 40s, 60s, and 70s-all four had underlying health conditions. … Read more
