Washoe County keeps shattering COVID-19 records

Washoe County sets a new record for daily COVID-19 cases, clocking in at 561 Sunday. That shattered a new record that was set just the day prior with 529 new cases. The county added four new deaths Sunday for a total of 219. Active cases now stand at 5,425. Meantime, hospitals in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City are preparing for a possible surge on capacity as they set up temporary beds and put surgeries on-hold. Governor Steve Sisolak gave Nevadans an ultimatum last week-shape up within two weeks or face new restrictions. Numbers have only risen in Nevada since then.
