UNR’s president apologizing for lack of COVID protocols at Wolf Pack game

UNR President Brian Sandoval is apologizing after the school didn’t comply with the state’s mask mandate at Saturday’s game against San Diego State. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports coach Jay Norvell was seen with his mask lowered and post-game celebrations in the locker room apparently included a lack of mask-wearing. The Wolf Pack beat the Aztecs 26 to 21. Sandoval re-assured Governor Steve Sisolak that the school is committed to complying with COVID protocols and called this a “teachable moment.” Norvell also apologized for his lapse.
