A renewable energy plant could be coming to Gerlach. Ormat Technologies, based in Reno, wants to build there. But The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the town of 100 expressed concerns from pollution of the air and the water. Ormat says its plants are zero emissions and they’re very conscious of groundwater pollution and sage grouse habitats. Public comment on the project is accepted through the end of next month.
