Washoe County is ranking worst in the state when it comes to new COVID-19 cases-Carson City is right behind it.
But one Nevada county is among juts four in the entire nation that remains COVID-19 free. Esmeralda County with a population of less than 1,000 people has yet to report a positive case. Commissioners say they haven’t done anything special to curb spread of the second-least densely populated county in America. But they’re grateful, since Esmeralda has one of the highest elderly populations in the state.
