Monday evening Governor Steve Sisolak announced a 45-day extension to the state’s residential eviction moratorium to allow for the counties to pay out short-term rental assistance to landlords, provide the courts more time to implement the newly-created residential eviction mediation program and develop electronic filing options. The extension means that landlords will have to wait until at least mid-October before they can force tenants out of properties for non-payment.
