Slink Fire scorches 26,000 acres, CA forest closure extended

The Slink Fire burning in Coleville, California, continues to burn in week three now. The fire scorched more than 26,000 acres so far and is about 60 percent contained. It’s one of several fires creating poor air quality here in northern Nevada. The closure of all U.S. Forests in California has been extended until next Monday as a result of all the fires burning.
