Wolf Pack’s football season sees some changes

Nevada’s football season is seeing some changes. The Mountain West announced a revised plan for the 2020 fall sports season-pushing the state of play back by nearly a month. It now begins September 26th. The season will have 10 games–with two non-conference games dropped from the schedule.

Governor Steve Sisolak declares racism a public health crisis. Sisolak signed a proclamation last night aimed at raising awareness so Nevada doesn’t perpetuate poor health outcomes due to systemic racism and the pandemic. Several states have made similar moves.

Winnemucca man killed in crash on US 95

A Winnemucca man is killed in a fiery crash. It happened on U.S. 95, north of Winnemucca. Troopers say a pick-up truck heading south crossed over the center-line and struck a Kia. Quad-County region sees additional COVID-19 death

Another person has died from COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The latest death involves a man from Carson City, in his 50s. That brings the total number of deaths for the area to 13. The Quad-County region also saw seven new cases and 26 recoveries.

Man killed in Gardnerville motorcycle crash identified

A man who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Gardnerville has been identified. Troopers say 62-year-old Kurt Kelso of Oregon, was driving on Kingsbury Grade when he struck a dirt mound and was thrown from his motorcycle Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Latest COVID-19 Numbers

Health officials are reporting one death, 101 recoveries and 78 new cases of COVID-19 in Washoe County on Wednesday. The death was a man in his 70s with underlying health conditions.
