Man who drowned on Lake Tahoe in boating accident identified

We now have the name of a man who died in a boating accident on Lake Tahoe. Officials say 28-year-old David Castorena of Napa, California, suffered a major injury to his leg from the boat’s propeller as he tried to get into an inflatable tube; he wasn’t wearing a life vest when he drowned Monday.

Douglas County sees 1st COVID-19 death

Six months into the coronavirus pandemic, Douglas County reports its first virus-related death. The victim was a man in his 80s with underlying health conditions. So far, in the Quad-County region, eight Carson City residents and six people from Lyon County have died from COVID-19.

Carson City GOP HQ vandalized several times

Carson City deputies are investigating repeat incidents of vandalism at the Carson City Republican Headquarters. They say Monday, someone spray-painted graffiti on the building and damaged the American flag. The building was vandalized at least three other times dating back to mid-June.
