In a major change in policy, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam announced today that his Office will release the Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage and initial details, as they are known, within 14 days of one of his commissioned personnel being involved in an officer involved shooting. The newly adopted policy also provides framework for making a deceased’s family a priority in the information stream.
