Washoe County adds 124 COVID-19 cases-the third most cases reported in a single day. No new deaths were reported Thursday. The county also added 74 recoveries.

A fire forces evacuations near Red Rock Road and North Virginia Street. Truckee Meadows firefighters say the Anderson Fire spanned 65 acres and threatened several structures at the time. The Washoe County Senior Services building served as an evacuation center.

This year’s Reno-Tahoe Senior Summer Games have been canceled. The city’s parks and rec department says the event scheduled for August was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

A new apartment complex that caught fire earlier this week near Geiger Grade was apparently under construction. Firefighters say a dozen of the 21 buildings that are part of the Espirit Townhome site were either damaged or destroyed.

A convicted sex offender is arrested after he failed to register. 30-year-old Ryan Cunningham is a Tier III sex offender, convicted of attempted sexual assault of a child under 14. He’s now back behind bars.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada has announced its August Mobile Harvest Schedule and will continues to operate using a drive through model. Fire breaks out an apartment complex near Geiger Grade. Reno firefighters were called to the scene near Toll Road at 3 a.m. Thursday. Residents were evacuated to the Summit Mall. No word yet on how the fire started.
