Sisolak’s new strategy will replace broad guidelines with narrower reopening criteria, evaluating data on a business-by-business basis rather than targeting entire industries.

Wolf Pack linebacker hurt in CA hit-and-run

A Wolf Pack linebacker is seriously hurt after being struck in a hit-and-run in California. The team says junior James Fotofili suffered a skull fracture when he was hit in a road rage incident in Sacramento last week.

Motorcyclist killed in weekend crash in Reno

A motorcyclist is killed in a crash over the weekend in Reno. Police say the 29-year-old lost control and veered off Galletti Way near East Fourth street near the Sparks border Saturday morning. He then hit an object. He was found unconscious and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Shots fired by UNR’s campus

A drive-by shooting near UNR’s campus is under investigation. Police say someone fired shots from a moving vehicle Sunday morning outside the YOUnion Apartments off Enterprise Road. Several shell casings were found and at least one car was struck by a bullet. No one was hurt.

RFD Says House a Total Loss

The Reno Fire Department (RFD) says just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning they received a call about a house fire in the area of Zinfandel Drive. Hotel industry in Reno-Sparks hurting amid COVID-19 crisis

Just how bad is the hotel industry hurting during the coronavirus pandemic? The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitor’s Authority says 163,000 rooms have been canceled since the start of the pandemic in March. That equates to millions in lost revenue. They say more than half of current arrivals are coming from California.
