Investigators say a fire in Dayton over the weekend was likely sparked by target shooters. The 308-acre fire burned across Lyon and Storey counties and on Bureau of Land Management land after being sparked Saturday afternoon. No one was hurt, and no homes were damaged.

Fire officials said the over 18,000-acre Numbers Fire that broke out off U.S. 395 south of Gardnerville last week was likely caused by hot particles escaping a failed semi-truck exhaust system, according to the Bureau of Land Management. As of Monday afternoon, the fire was 100 percent contained with three houses and 37 outbuildings burned.

Central Lyon firefighters stop a 120-acre brush fire from spreading further. They came out to Mile Hill east of Dayton Saturday. No one was injured and firefighters managed to protect several homes that were in the line of fire.

Fire destroys a mobile home in Sun Valley over the weekend. Firefighters were called to Fifth Avenue near Sun Valley Boulevard Saturday night. They made quick work of the flames, and one person got out safely, but their home is a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
