Cause of Numbers Fire Released

Fire officials said the over 18,000-acre Numbers Fire that broke out off U.S. 395 south of Gardnerville last week was likely caused by hot particles escaping a failed semi-truck exhaust system, according to the Bureau of Land Management. As of Monday afternoon, the fire was 100 percent contained with three houses and 37 outbuildings burned.

Mobile home destroyed by fire in Sun Valley

Fire destroys a mobile home in Sun Valley over the weekend. Firefighters were called to Fifth Avenue near Sun Valley Boulevard Saturday night. They made quick work of the flames, and one person got out safely, but their home is a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
