Results from an antibody study show up to five times more people in Washoe County have likely been infected with COVID-19 than what has been previously reported.
The study by the Washoe County Health District and the University of Nevada, Reno tested the blood of 234 adults who supplied blood for an antibody test between June 9 and 10. An estimated 2.3 percent of adult Washoe County residents are estimated to have been infected as of June 10. That is 4.5 to 5 times higher than the actual number reported on June 10.
