Business owners who just started reopening say they’re disappointed that peaceful protests turned into violent riots, leaving them to deal with the damage. Tom Adams tells 2 News he had to evacuate his staff from his speakeasy Saturday night when a riot at city hall erupted. Fire was reported inside city hall; the area saw broken glass and graffiti though the historic 1933 post office wasn’t damaged inside. The community came together to clean up Sunday, and the Reno-Sparks NAACP issued a statement calling for calm. Protests have erupted in cities across the nation in response to the police killing of George Floyd.
