New discount grocer opens in Fernley

A new discount grocer opens in Dayton. Grocery Outlet Bargain Market opened Thursday and brought nearly three dozen new jobs to the community. It’s the second Grocery Outlet in Lyon County. The store is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

A Maryland man is arrested in connection with shots fired in Fernley. 29-year-old Joshua Graham is accused of firing off multiple shots, striking the walls and windows of the Comfort Inn and Suites Tuesday. Nevada has seen more than a month of declining rates of coronavirus-related hospitalizations and positive tests for COVID-19, according to Gov. Sisolak on Thursday. The governor said Nevada has made significant progress meeting five benchmarks he set in late April in order to start easing restrictions on gatherings and business closures.

2 hospitalized in head-on crash in Minden

At least two people were seriously hurt in a head-on crash in Minden that totally obliterated one of the vehicles. Troopers say it happened on U.S. 395 northbound near Muller Lane Wednesday. Both drivers were taken by medical chopper to the hospital.
