American Century Championship celeb golf tourney will go on in Tahoe

It’s one of few events not canceled by COVID-19. The American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament will happen this summer at Lake Tahoe. There won’t be spectators but you can catch Tony Romo, Steph Curry, and Charles Barkley competing on television. It’s happening at the Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline from July 8th through the 12th.

Lyon County woman dies from COVID-19

The death toll from COVID-19 inches upward in the Quad-County region. A woman in her 70s from Lyon County has died from coronavirus. The area also reported five new cases-two in Lyon County and 3 in Carson City-bringing the total number of active cases to 72.

Douglas County deputies are looking for a fugitive. They say Ryan Manuella is wanted on charges of domestic battery with strangulation. They say he has known family and associates in California, Texas and New York, but admit he could be anywhere in the U.S.

Nevada Schools can Reopen

A new directive will let Nevada’s schools reopen for summer learning and activities, so long as they follow the state’s protocols for COVID-19. The Nevada Department of Education announced the new directive was signed Tuesday by Gov. Steve Sisolak and goes into effect Wednesday for public, charter and private schools.
