Most evacuations lifted as Poeville Fire continues to rage

People, in most areas, were permitted to return to their homes after being forced to flee the massive Poeville Fire. Heindel Road and Meyers Avenue residents remain under evacuation orders. Firefighters believe the fire on Peavine Mountain reignited amid heavy winds Saturday, setting 3,000 acres ablaze. The senior center at 9th Street and Wells Avenue is serving as an evacuation center. At least eight structures, several vehicles, and a playground burned. Federal funds will cover 75 percent of firefighting costs. The fire is just 30 percent contained at last check.
