Washoe County health officials reported a record 54 additional cases of COVID-19, one death and 37 recoveries on Sunday. The death was a woman in her 90s who had underlying health conditions. According to health officials, the increase in news cases is due to to an outbreak in the residential state-licensed facility Arbors Memory Care on Prater Way in Sparks, which accounts for nearly half of the new cases. There are 47 COVID-19 related deaths in Washoe County. The county’s total number of positive cases is 1,256 along with 657 recoveries.
