A man is arrested in connection with a years-old murder in South Lake Tahoe. Police handcuffed Sean Donohoe of Las Vegas and charged him in the fatal shooting of Manpreet Singh at a gas station in 2013. Police say evidence at the crime scene matches Donohoe’s.
A toddler is among a dozen people rescued after a boat capsizes on Lake Mead. It happened Sunday night during high winds and flash flooding. Rescuers say the boat overturned near Swallow Bay. No one was seriously hurt.
The cancellations keeping coming in. The 2020 Night in Country music festival in Yerington was canceled amid coronavirus concerns. The festival-which raises money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley–is expected to return for what would be its 20th anniversary next summer.
A Carson City man has died after a rock climbing accident in Paradise Valley. 22-year-old Tristan Lynn lost his grip and fell 25 feet; then a rock fell on top of him Sunday. He was taken by chopper to the hospital, where he later died.
Washoe County’s anticipated budget shortfall due to the coronavirus pandemic could be as high as $65 million over the next year-and-a-half. The county has already instituted a hiring and purchasing freeze. Reno-Tahoe Airport saw a slight increase in travel as restrictions eased. Airport officials tell News 4 they’ve had as many as 700 travelers going through the airport per day…that’s up 400 from last week, but overall travel is still down 96 percent.
