Governor Steve Sisolak has declared a state of fiscal emergency from the strain the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor’s Finance Office and Legislative Counsel Bureau-Fiscal Division estimates a shortfall from $741 million to $911 million, The declaration gives the governor and Interim Finance Committee authority to transfer money from the Rainy Day Fund to the general fund.
