The brush fires near Wadsworth are now nearly contained after burning at least 102 acres Sunday afternoon, according to the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.
The multiple brush fires east of Reno shut down the westbound lanes of I-80 and Wadsworth residents were requested to shelter in place. As of 8 p.m. Sunday, I-80 had reopened in both directions. The fires sparked about 2:45 p.m. and are reported to have destroyed at least three structures and a number of power poles.
