A crackdown on street racing the last two weekends netted 41 speed-related citations, one misdemeanor arrest for exhibition of speed and seven arrests for driving under the influence. Sixth grade registration for Carson City fifth graders is now open for prospective Eagle Valley Middle School students. On Tuesday, fifth grade students can pick up registration information from their current elementary school. Parents will also get an email with the informational links and videos today.
Washoe County’s death toll from COVID-19 rises to 15. The county now has at least 572 cases of coronavirus. Statewide, 142 people have died and 33-hundred people have tested positive for COVID-19. The silver lining-more than 25,000 Nevadans have tested negative for the contagious respiratory illness.
Nevada small businesses are struggling and may struggle longer now that the federal $350 billion Paycheck Protection Program, is out of money. It launched April 3rd and was supposed to have money available until June 30th. But instead, it ran out of funds in two weeks.
