With more than 200 casinos closed across the state, hundreds of thousands of workers are worried about their next paycheck. More than 200,000 of Nevada’s casino workers are currently without a job. MGM Resorts, the largest private employer in Nevada, says 60,000 of its employees have been furloughed. That’s why union leaders and casino workers from America’s biggest gaming markets held a public video conference calling on casino companies to take care of their workers while businesses remain closed. The conference was organized by the Unite Here International Union, which represents 100,000 workers in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
