UNR students being sent home from study-abroad programs in Italy, South Korea

Dozens of UNR students studying abroad in Italy and South Korea are being sent home over the coronavirus outbreak. The students were told Friday after federal officials raised Italy to a Level 3 travel advisory-recommending no non-essential travel. Students will be able to take online courses, once they’re home. UNR may also cancel a study abroad program that’s scheduled to start later this month in Japan, in which two students are enrolled. Risk of catching the respiratory illness on campus remains low with no confirmed cases in Nevada.
