Following in the state’s footsteps, Truckee has declared a local state of emergency despite no cases of coronavirus in the town or Nevada County. But the emergency declaration-while not a cause for alarm-sets the wheels in motion for the town to receive assistance from the state and the federal government if cases of the novel COVID-19 are identified.
