Nevada governor Steve Sisolak is shutting down all K-12 schools statewide starting Monday, March 16 until at least April 6 due to coronavirus concerns. The closure includes all public, private and charter schools, Sisolak announced at an emergency press conference on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas. Sisolak says all teachers and administrations will still be paid during this time period. During Sunday’s announcement, Sisolak said schools may not reopen until the State Chief Medical Officer evaluates the public health risk and determines when it is safe for each district to reopen.
