The cost of diesel fuel could be going up in Lyon County. Commissioners are proposing a 5-cent per gallon increase in the diesel fuel tax. They say, currently, they receive no revenue from the diesel fuel tax-with a large chunk of proceeds going to the RTC. The $2.2 million in revenues the tax would go towards road maintenance. Fuel for agricultural purposes would not be subject to the tax hike.
