Governor Sisolak adopts emergency regulations for coronavirus

Governor Steve Sisolak has adopted emergency regulations related to the coronavirus outbreak. The regulation ensures Nevadans covered by health insurance policies regulated by the state can obtain medical treatment and prescriptions related to a COVID-19 diagnosis – at their normal cost. The measure prohibits a health insurer from charging a for an out-of-pocket visit for a coronavirus test.

The first case of coronavirus appeared Thursday in southern Nevada. Washoe County also saw its first case in a man in his 50s, who had been onboard a cruise ship where an outbreak of the virus occurred. He’s in isolation at home, according to state health officials.
