The Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority will give an update Thursday to the Douglas County Board of Commissions on a proposed Tahoe South Events Center project .
The proposal is to pledge $34.25 million in tax money for the project through 2045.
Commissioners are being told the events center is needed to help reverse a steep decline in gaming at Stateline in the last two decades. The events center is designed to make the Stateline area more competitive for attracting tourists.
