Reno considers parks fee hike to combat rising minimum wage

Reno may have to hike recreation fees, fees for senior center passes, and after-school program rates to combat a scheduled hike in the minimum wage. Minimum wage is set to gradually increase over the next four years to $12 per hour up from $8.25 an hour. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that puts a nearly $3 million strain on the parks’ department’s budget; they rely heavily on minimum wage employees.
