Washoe County votes to consolidate firehouses. Stations 30 and 32 would combine-but be replaced with a new fire station. More resources would also shift to the North Valleys. A mutual aid agreement with Carson City would also cover part of the southern valley. Residents are balking because it could add as much as three minutes to response times. They say those minutes matter, and this move leaves them unprotected.
