A teen on a bike is hit by a car in Spanish Springs. It happened on Eagle Canyon Drive, not far from Shaw Middle School. Police say the 13-year-old boy was hospitalized and is expected to survive. The incident prompted the Washoe County School District to issue a statement, calling on the community to do more to keep kids safe. The district says more than 20 children have been hit by vehicles this school year-one of them–a Wooster High School student-was killed.
