Giving Tuesday: Red Cross asks for help amid spike in lodging need from wildfires, pandemic

The Red Cross is asking for your help tomorrow on Giving Tuesday. They say the need for emergency disaster lodging has surged amid the COVID-19 pandemic and wildfires. More than 1 million, including dozens in Reno due to wildfires, relied on the Red Cross for shelter after a disaster this year-that’s four times the annual average the last nine years. They say a $5 contribution buys a warm blanket while $100 can provide a family of two with emergency shelter for one night as well as food and hygiene products.
