More than 500 firefighters are still working to contain the Numbers Fire by ground and by sky-in hopes it doesn’t spread over into Lyon County and the Smith Valley area. The more than 18,000-acre fire is burning in the Pint Nuts and Pine View areas of Gardnerville. It’s just 30 percent contained after being sparked earlier this week. So far, 45 structures, including three homes have been destroyed. No evacuation orders are in effect.
